As World Power Lifting Champion (AWPC 2018) and ABPU British Powerlifting Champion and Record Holder (2019), sport has always played a significant part in Aneela’s life.
“I’m wired a little differently”, she smiles. “I embrace re-invention and change”.
There is mounting evidence to suggest that those who are successful in business (Aneela is Founder of her own PR business, Rose Media Group), share identical character traits with the best athletes. Work ethic, perseverance, continuous learning…and yes you guessed it, adjusting well to change!
Taking inspiration from her father and watching the Olympic Games in 2012, she dusted off her old school javelin, and embarked on a journey of strength training that gave birth to a second career as an athlete.
“There’s a moment that happens and it affects you…you get goosebumps. When you feel that, you have to act on it”.
Also a strong believer in the power of the mind, Aneela has strict routines for the start and end of the day – another common trait of successful people across all disciplines.
“I call myself a “mental lifter” as feedback affects my lifting. There are only certain people I want around me”.
