Our super-duper predictions for PR in 2025

A crystal ball to predict PR trends in 2025

Here at Rose Media Group, we love to look into the future and surmise what it has in store for us all. We don’t have a crystal ball in the office, we don’t employ a clairvoyant and we don’t use Tarot cards. If we really could see what tomorrow holds, we’d be making tracks to the nearest supermarket to buy some lottery tickets, obviously.

We do, however, have an insight into the upcoming trends in our industry, partly because we have a finger on the PR pulse. Here’s what it tells us.

Public Relations in 2025 will be defined by rapid technological advancements, evolving consumer expectations and an increasingly complex media landscape. The profession will be more dynamic, integrated and data-driven, with a stronger emphasis on authenticity, transparency and sustainability.

AI and all it can and can’t do for your business

One of the most significant changes will be the increased reliance on artificial intelligence and automation. PR professionals will use AI tools to analyse data, identify trends and predict audience behaviour. These tools will help craft highly targeted campaigns, streamline content creation and optimise media outreach efforts, saving time and resources while improving precision. Chatbots and automated responses will become standard in customer interactions, delivering real-time, personalised experiences.

Social media platforms will continue to evolve, and PR strategies will need to adapt to new formats and technologies, such as immersive content like augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). By 2025, brands may host virtual events or immersive brand experiences that allow users to interact with products or services in ways that feel tangible and engaging. PR professionals will need to be skilled in creating these interactive experiences, driving engagement through novel and creative storytelling.

Let’s get ethical, ethical!

Transparency and ethical considerations will surely take centre stage in PR. Consumers are increasingly demanding that brands align with their values, especially in areas like sustainability, diversity and corporate social responsibility. PR professionals will be expected to help brands navigate these issues carefully, ensuring their messages reflect genuine commitment rather than marketing tactics. Authenticity will be crucial as brands seek to build trust and long-term relationships with their audiences.

Finally, the relationship between PR and other business functions will become even more interconnected. PR will no longer be a separate silo but will work alongside marketing, customer service and HR, ensuring a unified and seamless brand experience. PR in 2025 will feel faster, more integrated and more aligned with consumer values, driven by data and technology.

So there you have it, the PR landscape for 2025 clearly mapped out with our usual insight and attention to detail. When each of these developments occur this year – and they WILL, of course – please try to look surprised.
